Blog Post 2: Presentation on Penny Weights

Post on your blog your group presentation related to the questions on masses posed in class:
What would a penny weigh picked up from the sidewalk?
What would a 1908 penny weigh?
What would a 1793 penny weigh?
Also, post a reflection on your presentation, the other presentations, and thoughts on how these could be even better.

Our group researched the topic and came up with a powerpoint presentaion with the information on it. We found it hard to give a 10 min presentation on just 3 really simple questions. However, we should have spent more time using our science skills in determining the last question and less time using our reseach skills. Like you mentioned in class our group should have actually went outside the cafe and made an attemt to find some pennies on the side walk. Anyways after we did a quick google search we were able to quickly dertermine that penny weight depends on what year it was made. For instance, indianhead pennies made between the years of 1864 and 1909 wieghed 3.11 grams. So would would a penny weigh that was made in 1908 weigh? The answer in 3.11 grams. A penny made in 1793 would weigh in at 13.48 grams and be made entirely of copper. I thought that as a class we could have put together better presentations. We needed to use more scientific findings.
